Junior's Cheesecake Cookbook : 50 To-Die-For Recipes for New York-Style Cheesecake

The Parkson/Bonuslink Card day was too far from my expectation, like indah khabar dari rupa. The JJ and MJ card day is considered great I guess. End up, I just go to my only favorite place in KLCC: Kinokuniya. I bought this book at RM 89.90. I'm learning and need more books to earn knowledge about baking, especially in my own interest Cheesecake.


I've not finished reading the book. Just a few pages and Abang also comment the book was so great as it give useful tips & guidance from mixing the batter until we give a perfect slice to the cake. The book also shared the common problems faced by every cheesecake baker like : top of the cake crack after it has cooled--> until now, I still encountered this problem. That's why some people prefer to make Non baked Cheesecake which would never has this problem.

Frankly, I would prefer to eat the baked one rather than the non baked as the tasted is better with no smelly cream cheese cheese. So, which one you like?

Before, we left KLCC, Abang treat me with an early dinner @ Secret Recipe. This is our first time dating @ Secret Recipe. I choose Fish N Chips while Abang choose Chicken Chop plus 1 slice of Banana Choc Cake. I also found that SR used Anchor Cream Cheese that I used to. So, no worry guys, insyallah Halal.

I'm growing up!!

# 1. Sekarang aku tgh berkursus iCare R4 kat MMC. Today masuk hari ke 2.

# 2. I already missed my MJ card Day on last Tuesday. I've planned for it but unable to make it during lunch hr as I have to settle few work tasks of the day.

# 3. Selasa malam arkitek ke rumah untuk ambil semua dokumen yang diperlukan. Seperti dijanjikan, semalam selepas waktu bekerja arkitek datang semula bersama kontraktor yang ke 5. Sekarang kami masih dlm proses pemilihan kontraktor yang paling sesuai & berpatutan. Sampai puas hati, baru boleh mula kerja.

# 4. I think I may not want to miss my Parkson's Card Day today. Since MMC is quite near to KLCC, I've informed Hubby to go P right after office hr today. Since today is my special day it's hard for hubby to resist my request ;) Plan to buy:
1) New office attire for myself: blouse + skirt
2) Avent: 1 Sippy cup & 1 8 oz bottle. Prefer to used Avent rather than other ordinary brand since it last longer!
3) New nursing bra. Once in a while I should pampered myself with Triump. I wear NB since Mawaddah is born last year and maybe until she reach 2 yrs old.
4) Clothes for kids: 1 outing attire + 1 pyjamas for each the brother and sister
Estimated budget: RM200++ (I guess some of it will be sponsored by Hubby )

# 5. Mengidam nak beli new digicam, not DSLR la kot, mahal banget. Maybe Nikon.

#6. Selamat menyambut ulangtahun kelahiran yg ke 27 kepada diriku sendiri!kuang kuang

Smiley Weekend story

JUmaat lepas, kali pertama aku join program Tiaranita, Hi-tea di Armada Hotel PJ. Aku sampai agak lewat dlm 15 minit, dah le pi sesorang, opismate dh pi awal/ada yg pi dr rumah coz cuti. Sebab lewat, aku kene dok belakang tiang sebelah pentas, dok sebelah MC, Sheila Rusly. Orangnya menarik, tinggi & petah bercakap. Pusing kiri dan kanan mmg tak jumpa langsung geng sama baya. Tapi aku mmg boleh aje get along. Kita network nak kene kuat kalau nk berniaga suatu hari nanti. Tapi dlm ketiadaan batch aku tu, tetiba masa nak pi amik makanan aku tertembung ngan ex-rumet aku yg dh lama gila tak jumpa, Zila yg mai ngan GM dia. Sonok & excited la aku. Masa persembahan Ajai & Marsha pon tak tengok sebab dok sakan borak ngan Zila. Rupanya dah beranak 2 juga le rumet aku ni. Insyallah tahun depan kami nak saing dapat anak sebaya plak. ehehe. Program Tiaranita ni memang meriah sungguh. Melaluinya banyak juga faedah disalurkan buat golongan wanita macam wujudnya Tiara Tots. Mungkin juga aku boleh salurkan cadangan utk buat ruang pejabat yang lebih friendly utk Mama bekerja yang memerah susu di pejabat.

Sabtu tengahari, kami ke walimatul urus adik angkat aku kat SAMER dulu, Nurul Farahana @ Putrajaya. Actually aku dh lama gila lost contact dgn dia. Tapi kenduri pon tak sempat nak borak sgt..later2 kita chat lg ok. Sabtu malam terpaksa hantar kids ke rumah emak coz kami gi kenduri kawan Master aku dulu Imi & Baha di De Palma Hotel. Makanan ala chinese food tu mmg sedap cuma 1 je yg aku tak bleh telan -shark fin soup. Ada 7 jenis makanan yg dihidang, kenyang sungguh. Makan best tapi still aku rasa tak happening sgt sebab : 1) ada kengkawan yg tak hadir even dah confirm nk mai 2) yg hadir semua dok scattered , kami dok semeja dgn orang yg tak kenal, tapi bleh je get along, cam biasa bila event dah nak abeh, aku panjangkan kaki ke sudut2 tertentu nak cari kengkawan Master, so dptla jumpa juga yg mana hadir . Kengkawan Master lain, awat sunyi aje tanpa berita?

Ahad plak: pagi kontraktor Cina mai tgk umah untuk berbincang projek ubahsuai dapur. Lagi 2-3 hari baru dapat quotation. Aku risau jugak kalau lebih dr bajet coz byk barang dh naik harga. Petang plak, arkitek mai untuk bincang pelan umah. Aku tension benornye ni coz dah 2 hari cari bil cukai tanah tak jumpa, dh cari kat umah n opis pon tak jumpa. Any idea? Aku target nak kasi semua dokumen lengkap + borang kat arkitek this week. Coz arkitek seperti berikut: Pelan RM100, Bayar deposit ke MPS utk sticker dan tong sampah besar RM500, upah arkitek RM500. So Total RM1100. Kelulusan bleh dpt dlm masa 2 hari.

Mawaddah- balutan kat tangan kami dah buka mulai semalam. Nampak makin ok. Dia cukup berhati-hati guna jari telunjuknya tak kira masa.

Mus'ab - malam masih pakai pampers. Bab cakap plak masih pelat kuat, yang boleh:
-Mama tanya: kenapa suara garau? Mus'ab Jawab : "Sakit Tekak"
- Nama apa? "Icap"
- Dah pandai jawab salam dengan elok " waalaikum salam"
- Dah elok kira "1-10 in BM & English"
- Mama tanya, nak gi sekolah tak? Dia jawab "Icap nak gi sekolah"
So ayahnya suggest nak merisik PASTI boleh terima tak budak 4 years yang belum pandai gi kencing sendiri dan basuh sendiri, meaning that yg kene guide lg. Then kalau boleh, mama ingat nak amik cuti the first & second day utk tgk dia boleh sesuaikan diri ke idak. Kalau asyik nak gaduh ngan kawan jek/ lawan cikgu terpaksala cancel.
Lagi satu, bab nak ajar Mus'ab guna Sippy cup, yakni tak guna botol susu belum mula lagi. Niat memang dah ada.

A deepavali story

Tuesday night last week, a very unlucky day for my poor little Mawaddah. It was because her mom being careless at home, specifically at kitchen. She got a deep injury at her finger because of an opened can. The can was not 100% open and I really didn’t realize that she put her finger into the can and then pulled back then. Blood coming out quite heavy and I tried to stop it by a ‘good morning’ towel on the way to clinic. The first clinic didn’t advised to do further treatment – stitch. The next day, we go again to the clinic but different panel C. The finger’s condition doesn’t improve anything and Dr urged us to go Hospital right immediately. So, after taking dinner @ Mom’s house & leave Mus’ab there, we went to Damansara Specialist. Dr wanted to start the stitch on the wounded finger in early morning. So, after we’ve registered, we came home because I can have more control on Mawaddah as she need to fast at 4am. When she woke up @ 5am, and crying for ‘Cucu’ (means susu) I put her in the swing to make sure she can continued the nap without taking milk. We left house @ 6.50am. Mawwadah changed her hospital’s dress at 7.30am while we are chatting with her to make her forgot about ‘Cucu’. Abang accompanied Mawaddah to the Operation room when they were about to start the mini operation. I can’t see her being fainted by the gas given by Anesthetic. It took about only 35mins, while we are waiting outside the operation’s room. I straightaway give her my ‘Cucu’ as she looked very hungry after the operation. Being herself, she always as active as usualà didn’t sleep, keep playing in the playroom which is in front of our ward until we can go home @ 3pm. For the 1^st time we have the ‘First Aid kit ‘ at home as we need to changed the dressing everyday. This is how we spent our Deepavali’s day. The cost at DSH was RM3.8k. Damn high right? Hope PM covers all.

The next day we went back to Kulim for Kenduri Aqiqah Paksu & went back to KL on Saturday’s night. Sunday we went to Kenduri Gorgom & Siti @ kajang and Open House FahmyZarid. I didn’t take any meal at Zarid’s house as Mawaddah started meragam & crying. Maybe she didn’t feel so healthy that day.

Lesson for all parents (reminder to myself!!!!):

1) We have to be more careful at home, don’t let dangerous things is exposed to kids, to watch out their activities at home etc , can’t list anymore as you all know well. (shame on me)

2) First Aid Kit is a must at home!

Jalan raya lagi

Letih btol rasanya saya menyiapkan banyak tempahan kek hujung minggu lepas, yelah kebanyakkan untuk jamuan raya/rumah terbuka. Kalau nak tgk kek, silakan ;)

Sabtu, lepas mengemas rumah, macam biasa banyak masa dihabiskan di dapur, siapkan 2 biji kek. Kira-kira jam 1ptg kami keluar rumah untuk ke rumah terbuka Kak hapsah, tapi jalan jam teruk & kami sampai hampir jam 3ptg, hujan pon lebat sgt masa tu. Dek kerana hujan & jam teruk kami tak dapat teruskan ke kenduri Siti&Gorgom, maafkan kami! insyallah we attend the Gorgom's side next week. Malam tu Mawaddah dah start nak demam. Kami bagi ubat.

Ahad, lepas siapkan semua kek-kek, Abang tolong sapu umah , huh nasib baik dia nak tolong, kami keluar jalan 1st to rumah YaniWary, then ke rumah Semah di Setia Alam, then ke rumah Kak Midah di Keramat AU, dan last sekali ke rumah my Ex Boss Pn Kam di Gombak. Hujan lebat sangat masa on the way balik but we still dropped by at nearest Clinic since medc. it out of stock. Sampai rumah hampir 9pm. lepas mandi & susu & tidurkan mawaddah sy sambung buat kek lagi. Penat sgt, tidur hampir jam 12am.

Last weekend memang kurang sangat mengemas rumah dek asyik buat kek & jalan raya. Today Mawaddah still not recovered and Abang babysit her. I 'll babysit mawaddah tomorrow, insyallah. I have few office matters to settle today. Thanks to Abang coz helping me a lot, sweeping the floor, babysit the kids while I was buzy at my own lab etc.

Yes, gambar raya kami dah ready sila lihat disini (tumpang kamera AbgWady&KakAin, thx a lot!). That is the only the whole family raya pic that we have. Furthermore, Abang is a very lazy person take snap pic regardless of the event.

Bajet masak sendiri untuk rumah terbuka

Rumah terbuka tahun ni nampak tiada jauh bezanya sangat dr segi menu. Menu yang telah kami hidangkan dan kesemuanya adalah homecook (kecuali bawang goreng ;p) adalah seperti berikut:
1) Laksa Asam/Penang - kosnya lebih kurang RM45 (ikan 5kg RM22, mee 4 bungkus RM5, telur, sayur & ulam2 RM8, bahan kisar RM10)
2) Mihun soto - kosnya lebih kurang RM79(ayam 5.5 ekor RM55, mihun 5 bungkus RM7, bahan kisar RM10, sayur dan bahan hiasan RM7). Dulu selalunya saya buat soto guna nasi himpit segera, tapi lepas keluar artikel kanser dah tak guna lg. Btol ke ek psl kanser tu?
3) 5 jenis kek & puding : 2 biji American Choc Cake, 1 biji besar Cream Peach Cheesecake, 1 biji kek terbaru Silky Choc Chip Cheesecake & 1 Black Forest Triffle ( ambil dr resipi kak D dengan sedikit modification ikut bahan-bahan apa yg sy ada saja)
American Choc Cake Mix & Base Royal sponge dpt percuma masa beli SPAR Mixer dulu. So untuk kos-kos lain lebih kurang RM40.
4) Cawan, pinggan, sudu & garpu pakai buang - RM40 (sebab terlebih beli, boleh guna lg tahun depan kot)
5) Lain-lain: tisu, ais

Jadi, kos keseluruhan lebih kurang RM240 untuk 140++ tetamu. So actually, memang soto dan laksa ada lebih utk 20 lagi kot. Kek macam biasa 4 biji dah abeh by 5pm. Selepas tu ada sebiji aje tinggal utk orang kendian.
